Sweet Dreams
When I was first diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis sleep and resting were a necessity of my new life. For close to ten years after my M.S. diagnosis, I usually slept for twelve hours a night. This was remarkably different for me; since in the past 5-6 hours a night was my regular routine.
I was so fortunate that I had completed my educational goals (B.A., 2 Master's degrees, a PhD) prior to my Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis. My sights were set on becoming a school superintendent. Those visions needed to change.
So, I dug in my heals and learned that my love of gardening, writing, and walking were a part of my new life. Twenty years after my initial diagnosis, my body needs nine hours sleep a night to live well.
How about you? Is there something newer in your life that you need to accept?
