Doing your Best with what you Have

I think most of us, as we get older and wiser, can recall situations in our lifetime that we would do differently. I know that I can reminisce about past situations and wish I that acted differently.

If we think for too long on that topic, we can get depressed. The point of remembering our mistakes is not to emotionally beat ourselves up. Instead, acknowledging that we did the best we could with the skills we had available at the time.

This is a sticky situation for a lot of people. It is important to help them get off their history of jumping onto the negative ferris wheel of memories. One helpful way to avoid this is to talk about it. Reframing it in a positive manner. Remembering the skills you currently have to navigating new challenges.
