Making Memories

Every year my adult children, Roman and Grant take a weekend trip with me somewhere in the Northwest. It is a wonderful opportunity for us three to make new memories and retell old memories. It is also an opportunity to stay connected with our current lives. As I get older (61 now!), I reminisce about life when they were younger. Some mothers say they wish they could go back to those former days with their children. I have rarely felt that way. As their mom, I am very curious about their current and future life. So, I ask lots of questions to learn what they are currently thinking and doing. Do I personally agree with everything they say? No, and that is not the point. The point is that I want them to hear loud and clear that I love them. I love them no matter what they think, no matter what they say, and no matter what they do. That is the kinda love I give them, and it is certainly the kinda love they give me. Keep living the Encouraged Life.
